You will use Adobe Illustrator to design a superhero logo for yourself!

Part II: Sketch

1. On separate paper Sketch out 4 different logos that would be your super hero brand.
2. Choose your favorite of the 4 logos and elaborate that design by making 2 new versions of it
3. Save your hand drawn logos because you will turn them in

Part III: Transfer to DigitalScan in your best of the 3 similar logos or trace it with the Wacom tablet.

1. Using Adobe Illustrator, turn your design into a vector
2. Make one version in color and one version in black and white
3. Be prepared for a critique

Part IV: Critique

• Each student will take a turn to share artwork
• When you share your art please address the following
  • What are the art elements and principles of design used within the artwork?
    • Elements: Line, Shape, Color, Value, Texture, Space, Form
    • Principles: Movement, Emphasis, Rhythm, Unity, Balance, Pattern, Contrast
  • What is your artwork about?
  • Please explain struggles you had to undergo when making your art.
  • What program(s) did you use to design it?
  • Anything additional that you would like to share?
• Positive feedback from the class
• Suggestions from the class to make changes if necessary
• Teacher feedback
• Conclusion
  • After hearing what the class had to say please share what you are going to do next.
    • Make any suggested changes? Nothing? Save & submit?

Objectives:

• Students will create a logo that symbolizes their self
• Students will create 6 thumbnail sketches
• Students will brainstorm ideas
• Students will complete a practice lesson on drawing with tools in Adobe Illustrator.
• Students will use Adobe Illustrator to design and produce a logo for the same product or company.
